TMP is no longer building power plants and demand for power in Utah is increasing daily due to the major increase in new buildings and the increasing number of EV chargers coming on the grid instead of using renewable energy. Therefore, a new program has started in the U.S called a VPN or Virtual Power Network. A VPN uses the batteries of those who have them as part of their renewable energy system.
Wattsmart is the name given to that program by RMP. When you sign up for Wattsmart, RMP will use your battery when it needs power. They claim it isn’t that much of the time so you shouldn’t cycle your battery so much that it prematurely
