1. Our Guarantee - If after the first year your system has not performed the way we said it would in the contract, we will pay you the total amount you paid to your utility that was over our projection for that year and we will fix the issue free of charge, so future years will meet or beat that original projection.
Of course, If you made changes to your facility or your inside operating situation that was not discussed in our upfront analysis and design, then we will need to work out a fair and equitable agreement to bring the system in to line with our ideas of what we agree the system should be producing.
2. We will honor all of the manufacturer warranties and guaranties which generally includes parts and labor.
3. We set up a monitoring system for you to use and we will also monitor your system in our office.

Note of Clarification
When we say “Off Grid” we mean you are effectively on your own for power generation. However, if you are currently connected to RMP you must remain connected to RMP even though you are “an island.” That’s the law in Utah. You will pay a $10 connection fee to RMP every month for residential and around a $50 connection fee for everyone else. This is good because that’s how you sell your battery stored energy back to RMP for net metering and the rebate.
Microgrid
A localized and self-contained energy system that can operate off-grid or on-grid. It consists of solar panels, battery storage, hybrid inverter and if desired a generator. All are integrated and controlled by very smart, reliable controller containing advanced software tools, AI, sensors, automation, control systems for optimization of energy production, storage and distribution. and communication technologies.
Microgrid vs Solar with batteries
While both involve solar power and battery storage, a "solar with batteries" system is essentially just a home-based setup where excess solar energy is stored in batteries for later use. A "microgrid" is a larger, more complex network that can operate independently from the main power grid, often including multiple energy sources like solar, and with advanced controls to manage power flow during outages, allowing it to "island" and provide electricity even when the grid is down. Essentially, a microgrid is a more sophisticated system with greater resilience and grid independence compared to just solar with batteries.
RMP
Rocky Mountain Power
Grid
The wires both overhead and underground, that carry electricity from the generation site to the site that uses that electricity. The grid is owned by RMP. Anyone other than RMP that uses that grid must have permission from RMP and pay them for using it.
On Grid
Your facility is connected to the RMP grid, and you are moving electricity to and getting electricity from it.
Off Grid
Your facility is unconnected from the Rocky Mountain Power grid usually because there are no power lines to your facility. However, this term is also used to say your system is “islanded” to work as if you did not have any power lines coming to your facility even though you actually do. It is effectively saying that you no longer rely on the RMP grid for power at any time.
Islanded
An islanded microgrid is a local energy grid that can operate independently from the main power grid. It can disconnect from the main grid during a grid disturbance or on schedule. In island mode, the microgrid must regulate its own voltage and frequency.
Inverter
A solar inverter is a device that converts the direct current (DC) electricity generated by solar panels into alternating current (AC) electricity, which is the standard type of electricity used in homes and businesses.
Hybrid Inverter
A hybrid solar inverter is a device that combines a solar inverter and a battery inverter into a single unit. It manages the flow of electricity between the solar panels, batteries, and the electrical grid.
Fortress Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries (LiFeP04)
LiFe4PO4) batteries are rechargeable batteries. They are safer than traditional lithium-ion batteries and do not explode under extreme conditions. They are more environmentally friendly than lithium-ion batteries.
They have a high energy density, long life, and good performance at high temperatures. Lastly, they cost less than lithium-ion batteries.
EV
Electric Vehicle
EVSE
Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment. A name for all of the equipment used to charge an EV including a charging station or charging dock. The future for charging will be something like driving over a mat or specific spot to automatically get a fast charge. More details are on this USDOT website.

J1772 or J-Plug
Electric Vehicle Charger Connection Standard for all Level 2 EV Charging Stations. Not used by Tesla. A Tesla owner has an adapter that can enable a Tesla to use a J-Plug.
CCS Plug
Electric Vehicle Charger Connection Standard for Level 3 EV Fast Charging Stations.
Tesla Charging Stations
In May 2022, Tesla opened up 158 Superchargers across 15 charging stations for non-Tesla EVs. These all-EV Superchargers are compatible with electric cars that have a CCS connector, which fits in most modern EVs and allows you to charge your battery up to 200 miles in just 15 minutes.
I am not sure how many there are now. I have never used one because my 2017 plug in hybrid does not have the CCS pins which you EV must have.
The new EV Charging Standard for ALL Charging Stations
The new SAE J3400 connector will ensure that any vehicle or charging equipment supplier or manufacturer will be able to use, manufacture, or deploy the connector and expands charging access for current and future EV drivers across the country.
